SDCC 2019: A Sad Goodbye to Marvel’s Agents of Shield

San Diego Comic Con kicked off last night with Marvel’s Agents of Shield sitting in Hall H for the last time ever as they announce the series will end after Season 7.

For some, certainly myself, this was heart-breaking news. I’m not ready to say goodbye just yet.

Here’s everything you need to know from the cast and crew’s interviews at comic con before they head off to Tahiti for vacation. We’ll let them off, they’ve certainly saved enough lives.

The panel kicked off with a video montage of the show over the last 6 seasons which had crowds and even Ming Na Wen in tears. I can say, watching from my laptop in bed at 11.30pm that it definitely made fans cry too.

Watching some of the best acting and best scenes from the best episodes again, whether it be the betrayal of Ward, when Jemma was stuck on a different world, when Fitzsimmons got married, when Hunter, Bobbie and Mack were introduced…all of it has been an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and I will be sad to see it end.

During the panel, it was said that Agents of Shield “is a show about family. It’s always been a show about the families we find as opposed to the ones we come from.”

And it’s true. We’ve found family in the fandom, in the cast, in the Twitter rants and Tumblr edits. In our love of these characters, we’ve all found friends and family that hopefully, despite the show ending, we do not. Keep those chats alive, I will need them when I’m mourning.

So what do we have to look forward to in the remaining episodes of season 6 and season 7? After showing a trailer for the rest of the current series, which for those who haven’t watched it yet, go watch it because oh my god it’s all about to KICK OFF. And maybe answer some questions too.

As for season 7, writers hinted that “in series 7 we do come as close to a musical as we ever will.” I have mixed feelings about this. Shows attempt musicals and not all succeed. My favourite had to be The Flash/Supergirl. So, I’m not raising my expectations but it’ll definitely be interesting.

Whose going to bet Coulson will sing?

The cast also revealed that they did their final table read ever last week and that maybe, just maybe, Gabriel Hung could return as Ghost Rider. This final news has me like ODJGOIJGIEJRGIO. I really hope he does as personally, I don’t think he got the ending he deserved and he definitely has more to offer.

So, without further ado, I want to thank the Marvel’s Agents of Shield cast for 7 amazing years and memories of the show. I wish them all the best of luck, but most importantly, I wish us fans the best of luck in surviving the finale.
